Lighthouse Demo Field Day Sets the Stage for Rural Circular Economies
On July 3rd, at the Novamont Experimental Fields nestled in Benevento, a vibrant celebration of sustainable agriculture and biorefinery initiatives unfolded during the Lighthouse Demo Field Day. This pivotal event, organized collaboratively by Novamont, Coldiretti, and supported by Brilian, Carina, and Midas Projects, drew over 60 farmers and primary producers’ representatives.
Their shared mission: to explore the promise of carinata and safflower crops in fostering a circular future for rural landscapes.
At its core, the Lighthouse Demo Field Day was a local workshop designed to unveil the potentials, opportunities, and hurdles of cultivating carinata and safflower. These oil-rich crops play a crucial role in supplying raw materials for biorefineries, paving the way for innovative bio-products essential for sustainable development.
Participants immersed themselves in dynamic discussions and practical demonstrations, gaining invaluable insights into the cultivation techniques of these promising crops. The event not only fostered knowledge exchange but also served as a catalyst for local stakeholders to share their experiences and vision. Their collective efforts ensured that the workshop transcended mere information-sharing, evolving into an inspiring leap towards realizing a circular economy in rural communities.
As the momentum from the Lighthouse Demo Field Day continues to reverberate, the Brilian project remains committed to driving agricultural innovation and sustainability. Future activities promise to build upon this foundation, forging a path towards a greener, more resilient future for agriculture and beyond.
Join us in this transformative journey as we cultivate sustainability hand-in-hand with local communities, laying the groundwork for a brighter tomorrow. Together, we are shaping a future where agriculture thrives in harmony with nature. 🌿
