Danish Pilot

Piloto_Dinamarca_v02

The production of rapeseed oil in Denmark generates a rapeseed cake residue that is currently used as feed for animals. However, there are still proteins and other components left in the cake that can be extracted in order to increase its value. BRILIAN will produce a range of vegan proteins and supplements, and bioactive compounds suitable for applications in food and adhesives, from both hot pressed and cold pressed rapeseed cake.

In the Danish pilot, led by the Danish Technological Institute, one ton of rapeseed cake will be processed, producing up to 100kg of final product. The aim is to obtain a final product with at least 50% protein content and low levels of antinutritional factors, which can otherwise affect the organoleptic properties and therefore the consumer perception of the final product.
