Innovation & Sustainability: BRILIAN at IFIB 2024
The 14th edition of IFIB – International Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy, held in Bologna, Italy, brought together experts from around the world to discuss the future of sustainability and biotechnology. It was a remarkable opportunity for the BRILIAN project to showcase its efforts in advancing circular bioeconomy in the agri-food sector.
At this event, the work done by the BRILIAN project to promote circular value chains and sustainable business models, especially in rural areas, was highlighted in the presentation: “The way to sustainability in the Food Sector”.
Driving Circular Innovation
By sharing some of the project´s history and background, we highlighted how the project serves as a key example of how circular thinking can help agri-food companies reduce waste, maximize resource use, and create more sustainable business models, transforming traditional agri-food companies through circular bioeconomy principles.
Collaboration for a Sustainable Future
Events like IFIB are essential for fostering collaboration and exploring new opportunities within the circular bioeconomy. The forum brought together participants from across Europe and beyond to discuss potential collaborations, partnerships, and innovations that will shape the future of sustainability in the agri-food sector.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to SPRING – Italian Circular Bioeconomy Cluster for inviting BRILIAN to be part of such a valuable event. The insights, collaborations, and discussions we experienced at IFIB 2024 will undoubtedly help drive our mission forward.
We’re excited to continue this journey toward a sustainable, circular future in the agri-food sector.
Brilian
The BRILIAN project has been conceived to support the adoption of sustainable and cooperative business models in rural areas, to incorporate agricultural by-products valorisation, seeking to increase and diversify primary producers’ income.
