Brilian Policy Workshop: Seeds of Change in Rural Areas
As we have seen from recent protests in the Netherlands, Germany and France, European farmers face serious challenges to continue their activities, both from legislation but also market forces.
What role can a rural bioeconomy play in helping rural communities diversify and expand incomes?
How can we integrate rural economies into industrial activities to the mutual benefit of both sectors?
The workshop aims to address several crucial policy-related topics, including the utilization of rural feedstocks, integration of the rural economy into energy and industrial networks, development of new materials from agricultural feedstocks, training of agricultural labor and enterprises, and improving the availability of labor in areas with few young people, among others.
