noviembre 17, 2025 admin Comments Off

In October, BRILIAN held its M29 General Assembly in Taastrup, Denmark, hosted by project partners Danish Technological Institute and Food&Bio Cluster Denmark. The occasion marked a significant milestone in the project and offered an ideal setting for showcasing the Danish pilot. The event also featured a dedicated industry workshop titled “Unlocking the Potential of Rapeseed Cake”, gathering stakeholders to explore innovative uses for one of Denmark’s most abundant agricultural by-products.

A roadmap for the next project phase

The General Assembly brought together all partners for a comprehensive review of project developments and future plans. Discussions focused on:

  • -Reviewing progress across the three national pilots in Italy, Spain and Denmark, and identifying key priorities for the upcoming months.

  • -Assessing the status of the Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) for the Italian and Spanish pilots.

  • -A strategic policy briefing was delivered by the European Bioeconomy Bureau, highlighting key developments at EU level, including the forthcoming EU Bioeconomy Strategy, ongoing consultations on the Circular Economy Act, and future directions of the Common Agricultural Policy. The session also explored how current geopolitical dynamics are influencing the agricultural sector and the broader bioeconomy landscape.

  • -Revisiting communication and dissemination efforts, including ongoing and upcoming activities, with special attention to upcoming replicability events that will play a central role in the next project stage.

Co-Creating Business Models for Impact

As part of the General Assembly working sessions, BRILIAN partners participated in an interactive workshop focused on the Business Models Module, specifically targeting the Spanish and Danish pilots. Building on the insights gained from the Italian pilot’s already-developed models, the session aimed to co-create and refine the strategic foundations for the next phases.

Using the Business Model Canvas as a collaborative tool, the teams identified and mapped the key stakeholder groups involved in each value chain, the unique value propositions being developed, and the tools and methodologies that can help generate that value. The exercise also helped clarify the key actions and resources needed to implement these models, as well as engagement strategies to secure stakeholder participation and benefit-sharing.

The session was a valuable opportunity to align approaches.
