June 10th 2026
Join us for a morning of knowledge exchange, collaboration, and innovation at the heart of the rural bioeconomy.
Organised by Novamont and the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale del Lazio e della Toscana (IZSLT), the BRILIAN Italian Pilot Workshop will bring together institutions, researchers, and companies to explore the opportunities offered by the rural bioeconomy, with a specific focus on the Italian Pilot of the BRILIAN project, led by Novamont.
The event will take place on June 10th, 2026, from 09:30 to 12:30 CET, at the IZSLT Headquarters, Via Appia Nuova, 1411, Rome, Italy.
The workshop will be held in Italian.
What to expect
The morning will be structured around two main sessions.
The first will address agricultural supply chains and sustainable development models for farmers, with a focus on more sustainable agricultural practices, digitalization, and the role of European projects — including RUNFASTER4EU — in driving sectoral innovation.
The second session will dive into the world of bio-based products, showcasing innovative value chains derived from crops such as cardoon, safflower, and sunflower.
Topics will cover bioplastics, bio-lubricants, biostimulants, bio-herbicides, animal feed, and the use of biomass as substrate for mushroom cultivation — all examples of how agricultural residues can be transformed into high value-added products.
The workshop will close with a discussion on sustainable development perspectives and new economic opportunities for the agricultural sector, offering participants a space to reflect on the future of the rural bioeconomy in Italy and beyond.
